  Phosphate Compound Fertilizers
   
 

China began the production of superphosphate and fused calcium-magnesium phosphate in 1950s. From 1960s, a certain number of small-sized ammonium phosphate plants and associated phosphoric acid plants had been built up in succession, which mainly produced mono-ammonium phosphate. From the 1990s of 20th-century, phosphate compound fertilizers industry of China obtained rapid development, production capacity and output ranked first in the world. In 2013, the phosphate fertilizer output of China reached 16.30 million tons (as 100% P2O5).

ECEC is one of the earliest engineering companies engaged in developing technology and constructing projects for phosphate compound fertilizer, and has in succession undertaken the construction of dozens of large and medium-sized phosphate compound fertilizer bases or plants. The variety of the products includes SSP, MAP, DAP and NP/NPK as well as comprehensive utilization of byproduct phosphogypsum. Examples of these bases or plants include the phosphate compound fertilizer base of Anhui Liuguo Chemical Industry Co., LTD. for 400kt/a of phosphoric acid (as 100% P2O5), 400kt/a of DAP and 600kt/a of NPK; the phosphate compound fertilizer base of Yunnan Honglin Chemical Industry Co, Ltd. for 400kt/a of phosphoric acid , 400kt/a of DAP and 300kt/a of NPK; the 600kt/a NPK plant of Sino-Arab Fertilizer Co., Ltd.; the 800 t/d DAP project of BCIC, Bangladesh; the plants of Yunnan Phosphate Compound Fertilizer Base for 800kt/a of sulfuric acid and 600kt/a of DAP; Vietnam Haiphong 400kt/a sulfuric acid, 160kt/a phosphoric aced (as 100 % P2O5 ) and 330kt/a DAP ;Wengfu Dazhou 600kt/a DAP project;800kt/a sulfuric acid and 600kt/a DAP plants of Hubei Dayukou Chemical Co., Ltd.; Guizhou Wengfu 250kt/a phosphogypsum to ammonium sulfate project;, etc. With dozens of years¨ continuous development of engineering technology and uninterrupted engineering experiences, ECEC has been in the leading position in the construction of phosphate compound fertilizer projects in China.

In order to provide customers with phosphate compound fertilizer plants that are advanced in technology and reliable in operation, ECEC maintains long-term and good cooperative relations with a wide range of well-known foreign licensers, such as Rhone-Poulenc, Pryon, GP, Hydro, Incro, etc. in addition to independently developing process technology and proprietary equipment.

240kt/a Ammonium Phosphate Plant Technical Innovation Project of Liu Guo Chemical Industry Ltd., Anhui, China
Plant capacity: 120kt/a phosphoric aced, 240kt/a DAP
Source of technology: Independently-developed process technology
Process route: Phosphoric acid is produced by the di-hydrate process, double-tank reaction technology, which uses a tilting-disk filter for filtration, forced circulating and vacuum concentration, with which DAP is produced by a pre-neutralization, ammonification & granulation process and high quality DAP product is obtained through the process steps of neutralization, granulation, drying, screening, crushing, cooling, off-gas scrubbing, etc.
ECEC¨s scope of work: Provision of process technology, engineering design, technical service, supervision on construction, installation, commissioning and start-up.
Construction time: 1999-2001.

600kt/a NPK turnkey project of Qinhuangdao
End user: Sino-Arab Chemical Fertilizers Co., Ltd.
Plant capacity: 600kt/a NPK
Source of Technology: purchased license and process design package from GP of France
Process route: Phosphoric acid, potassium salt, nitrogen salt and ammonia are used as raw materials with a pipe-reactor technology, which go through reaction and granulation, drying, screening, crushing, cooling and off-gases scrubbing to get high-quality NPK product.

Vietnam Haiphong DAP EPC Project

End user: Vietnam National Chemical Group
Plant capacity: 414kt/a sulfuric acid, 162kt/a phosphoric acid and 330kt/a DAP
Source of technology: purchased patent licensing and process design package of sulfuric acid from MECS of U.S.A., purchased patent licensing and process design package of phosphoric acid from Prayon of Blegium, purchased patent licensing and process design package of DAP from Incro of Spain. Process route: Using sulfur as raw material, through molten sulfur, sulfur burning and conversion, absorption, drying process to produce sulfuric acid; using sulfuric acid and phosphate rock as raw material and dihydrate process of Prayon ,through reaction, filtration and concentration to produce phosphoric acid; with phosphoric acid and ammonia as raw materials, adopting the Incro tubular reactor process, through granulation, drying, screening, crushing, cooling and off-gases scrubbing to get high-quality DAP product.

600kt/a DAP turn-key project of Wengfu Dazhou Chemical Industry Co., Ltd.

Process route: with phosphoric acid and ammonia as raw materials, adopting pipe reactor technology, through granulation, drying, screening, crushing, cooling and off-gases scrubbing to get high-quality DAP product.

Expansion and Renovation Project of Hubei Dayukou Chemical Co., Ltd.
End user: Hubei Dayukou Chemical Co., Ltd.

Source of Technology: imported HRS system of sulfuric acid from MECS, independently developed DAP technology
Process route: using sulfur as raw material, through molten sulfur, sulfur burning and conversion, absorption, drying process to produce sulfuric acid; with phosphoric acid and ammonia as raw materials, adopting pipe reactor technology, through granulation, drying, screening, crushing, cooling and off-gases scrubbing to get high-quality DAP product.
